JAW PAIN
A VARIETY OF ISSUES CAN CAUSE JAW PAIN. WE CAN HELP DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND REMEDIATE THE PAIN.
Known as Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJD), this disorder can cause pain, lockjaw, headaches, swelling, functional issues and even damaged teeth. Whether the pain is from clenching or grinding teeth, arthritis or misalignment of discs, a consultation with Oatlands Dental will help us diagnose the issue and alleviate any discomfort.
Depending on the severity of the pain and diagnosis, treatment may be as simple as a heat pack to the affected area or more involved anti-inflammatory medication to alleviate TMJD symptoms. Oatlands Dental may also advise more advanced treatment such as a night-time guard or easing injectables into the chewing muscles. However, we strongly recommend that you consult with one of our dentists to avoid symptoms worsening and potentially causing more complex problems.
